PARTY POTATOES

1 pint half & half
(or 1 c. half & half and 1 c. milk)
1-1/2 sticks of butter
2/3 lb. Velvetta
1-8 oz. pkg. of grated sharp cheddar cheese
48 oz. frozen hashbrowns

Thaw hashbrowns on counter. Salt. Cut Velvetta cheese in small chunks. Combine two cheeses in saucepan. Add half & half and butter. Simmer until all is melted. Mixture will be very thin. Pour over thawed potatoes. Let set one hour before baking.

Place in 2-1/2 to 3 quart casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Watch to make sure it doesn’t get too brown. It can’t overcook. Cover with foil.

Are my eggs still fresh?

Ever wonder how to tell if your eggs are still fresh or not?  The date on the carton is the ‘sell by date’, not the ‘use by date.’  Here’s how.  Fill a glass with room temperature water.  Place the egg in the water.  If it sinks, it’s fine.  It it floats, it’s bad.
