Luke’s – A Steak Place – is a hidden gem in the Arvada area. It’s in a non-descript strip mall just north of I-70 at Kipling. It’s a very affordable steak restaurant. The salad is excellent and their steaks are terrific. We vary between ordering the fried potatoes and the mashed potatoes. You must give them a try!

Alphabetize your spices! I know it sounds silly and like it might be a lot of work, but it is one of the best things I’ve done in the kitchen. There is nothing worse than needing a spice, knowing you have it, but being unable to put your hands on it. The best thing to use for spices is a lazy Susan. If you don’t have one, buy one. And get a double-decker one if you can. And don’t buy huge (Costco size) jars of spices. Buy the smallest container you can. Even if it’s more expensive, odds are you won’t use up the spice before its shelf life is over.
